The River

Walking past the river, looking out the Eye
From my eye to the time it takes
For you to pop in my mind
And I wander, counting bridges
Snapping shots to catch the light
And find some deeper meaning for that 40 hour flight

I remember you

Sitting at a pub with a pint and a reason
To be hopeful for the strangers
But they never glance my way
And I retreat to the river
Wrap a scarf around my neck
And I find peace in the stillness
Of the night

As I remember you
